Yesterday, our team proudly joined the Making Strides Breast Cancer Awareness Walk here on Long Island. Surrounded by survivors, families, friends, and fellow community members, it was an inspiring day that reminded us why this cause means so much.
Standing in Solidarity
Breast cancer touches so many lives. In the United States, about 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with invasive breast cancer in their lifetime, and in 2025 alone, roughly 316,950 new cases are expected (American Cancer Society).
For us, this walk was deeply personal. Several of our own team members have been directly affected — either through their own experiences or by supporting loved ones through treatment and recovery. Taking part in the walk gave us the opportunity to stand side by side, not just as coworkers, but as a family showing support and hope for those impacted by breast cancer.
The Making Strides Against Breast Cancer events bring together thousands of people across the country each year for 3–5 mile, non-competitive walks that raise funds and awareness for breast cancer research and support services (Learn more about Making Strides). Being part of that movement was both humbling and motivating — a reminder that every step counts toward a future with more survivors and fewer diagnoses.
Beyond the Office: Building Camaraderie
It was refreshing to step outside the office and spend time together in a different way — walking, laughing, sharing stories, and encouraging one another. The energy of the day was contagious. We were also lucky enough to be joined by our team’s friends and families, meet familiar faces along the way, and connect with other organizations we recognized. It truly felt like a day surrounded by community and unity.
We left the event with full hearts, a renewed sense of purpose, and gratitude for one another. It’s moments like these that remind us how strong our team truly is — both in the workplace and beyond.
Continuing the Fight
Our team walked to raise awareness and funds for research, patient support, and education — all critical to saving lives and providing hope. If you’d like to contribute, donations can still be made through our team page.
